Video takes time – all marketers understand this concept. You spend hours working with your video content partner to create an outline, work on the script, create the storyboards, film the actual video, then you spend countless hours going back and forth on revisions and rounds of video edits. The video is finally complete, and you hit publish. But this is actually doing a disservice to the countless hours you just spent completing the video – a single piece of video content can be so much more than the one video upload. That is why at Render Perfect we want to show a few ways of how to make one video into multipurpose content.

Infographics

Why infographics? According to HubSpot, infographics are liked and shared on social media 3X more than other any other type of content. They work for nearly every social platform. In today’s world, where everyone is suffering from information overload, infographics clearly and visually display your message effectively.

Shorter Video Clips

Shorter videos work on social media – period. Longer form videos have their place, but it is not social. When you’re scrolling through your multiple feeds, you’re much more likely to watch a brief clip, as opposed to a 5-10 minute visual brand story. There are a few ways to cut up your longer videos, and repurpose them into shorter clips – you can create GIFs, cinemagraphs, shorter social videos, or even display ads!

Blogs

Writing a blog post is a process – you research topics, create an outline, write the post, then go through edits. As I write this blog post – I totally understand how time-consuming, this could be. But, if you turn your video into a blog post, you can skip a few steps. Take the transcription from your video and create a blog post from that content! You can re-work the transcription then make it sound like a blog, additionally you should add stats, additional content, video clips, links, etc.

Visual Content Pieces

This is one of the simplest ways to repurpose your content – turn your video into a series of graphic content pieces. You can take stills and turn them into great looking photos or images. Or, take certain quotes or stats, and create some sort of a designed graphic that you can use as images on multiple platforms. You can also summarize concepts and create short animations.

Interactive Content

Quizzes are one of the most popular forms of interactive content – hate it or love it, take it from BuzzFeed and the popularity of their content. This piece of content is a bit more time consuming and difficult to create, but it is one of the most useful. And not every video can work as a quiz – animated explainers, how-to videos or other educational content work best.
